Invented by scientists at Bell Labs in 1954, the silicon solar cell’s unique ability to convert sunshine into electricity with no moving parts seems almost magical. In the following poster, video and this webpage, we explore the many uses of solar cells (aka Photovoltaics) around the world. You’re invited to research a particular use further and share with your class.
