Solar Decathlon Video 2005

Every two years, the U.S. Department of Energy sponsors an international competition, called the Solar Decathlon,  to design, build and operate the most attractive and energy-efficient solar-powered home. College and university teams from around the world transport their competition houses to the National Mall in Washington, D.C. to assemble a solar village and participate in the ten-part contest.
This video, produced by Rahus Institute-Solar Schoolhouse, chronicles the 2005 Solar Decathlon competition. It tells the story of the talented student teams, highlights their innovative technology, and suggests strategies for a sustainable future. The video is presented in 3 parts via Youtube. We also edited and included new elements from the 2007 Solar Decathlon in a 50 minute 2005/2007 remix that can be seen here.
