Sebastopol Carbon Conversations

[RSVP for specific Conversations via links on the table below]

What you and I can do about Climate Change. Finding our role in shaping the future.

Sebastopol Carbon Conversations is hosted by The Rahus Institute and Sebastopol Grange.  The series takes a closer look at the many solutions for reversing global warming as presented in Project Drawdown  and other sources. We’ll learn from local organizations that are working on Climate solutions in agriculture, renewable energy, reducing waste, empowering women, transportation, building design, carbon sequestration, and more.   Through this exploration, we’ll discover where we each can take small to large steps, help shape a better future, and still enjoy the day (smile, get a good night’s sleep, dance, sing, play music).

Audience: community, teachers, students…everyone.

Cost: FREE. Though Pre-Registration is Required. See links in table below for each session.

Location: Sebastopol Grange, Sebastopol, CA [unless otherwise noted below]

Sponsors: The Rahus Institute, Sebastopol Grange. [email your interest in collaborating to carbon@rahus.org]

Planting Trees Sequestering Carbon. It is now widely accepted that “the restoration of trees remains among the most effective strategies for climate change mitigation. ” According to a recent study, the current global potential for reforestation has the capacity to add approximately 1 trillion trees, contributing a growing repository of over 200 gigatons of carbon stored. We'll learn of the global potential and how local coalitions are stewarding the forests.
